Work work work. Ha ha, no. I've spent most of the day cleaning up my flash drive and reading Lessig.

Saturday, November 26, 2011

A little after nine here. Cold, damp, grey and rainy outside. Finally. I thought autumn would never get here.

Thursday, November 24, 2011

Banana bread is in the oven. Stew is simmering on the stove. Marvel superheroes are on my TV. A good day, today.
Wonder how many Occupy Wal-Mart people got peppered sprayed this morning.

gpoyw: time lord edition #merightnow #sonicme

I may have spent all day today watching DOCTOR WHO. In spite of whatever else that may have gone wrong, I consider this a good day.

Monday, November 21, 2011

I have just witnessed a vigorous debate concerning Gonzo the Muppet's relationship with a chicken. My brain will never forgive me.
Geez, Texas. I'm getting really tired of turning the AC on in the winter.

i need a haircut, shave and new sinus cavities #merightnow

My one thought on BREAKING DAWN: that one day, it will be remade by David Cronenberg. Now that's a birth scene I want to see.

Thursday, November 17, 2011

The cold has not improved. Still achy and sore and sniffly and generally grumpy. Don't know if I'm gonna make it to work tomorrow.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Home. I sure do miss those ten-minute commutes I used to have.
I've broken two major "never gonna's": I've restarted my Facebook account, and now I've downloaded the Kindle app for my phone.
Traffic was severly hosed today. Some poor soul jumped off one of the really tall US 281 exit ramps over I-410.

"Frozen zone". Rolls right off the tongue, don't it? Kinda like "D-notice" and "Reclamation Zone". spiderjerusalemwasright ows
Now comes the fun part: how to make $2.50 last until next Wednesday. Kids, don't try this at home.

I hate it when a book I really want comes up for trade on PaperBackSwap when I'm broke.
Watching the GOP debates, I realize how close we are to having President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.

Banana bread in the oven. I've said it before: Imma bag this silly computer shtick and open a bakery.
Waiting for a drug screening. Maybe eating three poppy seed muffins this morning wasn't a good idea.

Thursday, November 10, 2011

Oy, my tummy is too full of banana bread. Maybe there is such a thing as "too much of a good thing".

late night snack

Banana bread is in the oven. Mmmm, fresh bread.
Starting a short-term gig on Monday. Hopefully, the drug screen doesn't include caffeine.
Well, whaddya know? I have all the components for making banana bread. :)
Just got home from another interview for a short-term gig. Now comes the hard part: waiting.

gpoyw: november rain edition #oohlookatme #merightnow #gpoyw

Had to bust out the hoodie. Yep, it's autumn, all right.
63 degrees and cool breezes for the next few days. I love autumn.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Wait, if I want to watch HBO shows on my Roku, I have to get a cable subscription first? Why the hell would I need my Roku, then?
Finally, the rain came. Windows are open and the cool breeze feels nice.

Monday, November 7, 2011

Fifty percent humidity. Yuck. Days like this are why I miss the desert.

Saturday, November 5, 2011

The ibuprofen does nuffink. Getting old really sucks.
In other news, resetting my phone has yielded very positive results. I got all the way home before the battery died.
The only problem I have with walking around a crowded city is that I become acutely aware of how very single I am.
OK, my feet have officially called it quits and my left calf is throbbing. I think that's enough exercise for one day.
I've done a hellacious amount of walking today. Think I'll let the streetcar take over from here.

sooprize naps always leave me knackered

More or less awake now. Coffee is brewed and biscuits are in the oven.
OK, it's 7 o'clock in the morning. Where's the sun?

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

Wow. That wind is really whipping hard outside.
Huh. That's funny. I don't remember adding QUILLS to my Netflix queue.
Have I mentioned how much I love my new couch? Cuz I do.

gpoyw: indolent slacker edition

Testing, testing, testing. You'd think after 25 years of using Excel, I'd get cut a little slack. Especially since I keep acing the tests.
I really want to like Spotify. But that nasty habit of songs skipping every once in a while reminds me of a broken record.
Really, Tumblr?
Companies must be really hurting if they're considering someone like me for sales positions. I can't give away free water in the desert.
Hey, Google. Showing me alternative translations for stuff I can already read? Yeah, probably not necessary. Kill the pop-ups, please.

Nice. Just when I decide to leave my windows open for the night, one of my neighbors lights up a blunt. Thanks for nothing, jerk.
If you just got a msg from me that said I found a job, ignore it. Someone hacked my Ping.fm account. Again. o_O
awsome i found a job at http://ping.fm/MxGCa =)
Nothing like an untimely yet necessary car repair to burn through one's financial buffer between jobs in no time flat.
HUSH, NOISY BIRDS. I'M TRYING TO WATCH TV.
So, these new upgrades to Google Reader ... they were supposed to drag the site to a slow crawl, then?
Ah, the joys of apartment living. I go away for two weeks, and all my neighbors are different when I return.
